Tue, June 14, 2005 - 4:25 AMI completely agree with Jack. Some older people and some people in smaller towns maybe don't speak that much english, but the great bulk of europeans grow up with english as their second language and are dependent on it.
Having said all that tribes such as this one:
foreignersinireland.tribe.net
and
ukyankee.tribe.net/
specifically started out as tribes for foreign residents of those respective countries.
What I think you will find in the case of Spain, France, Italy, Germany is that the tribes listed are heavily populated by people who wish to or have visited those countries and that they are supported by nationals of those countries fluent in english. If you look on the left hand sidebar of those tribes you will see displayed other tribes which people in those tribes are also members of.
These tend to include tribes for speakers of varying proficiencies from beginner to advanced of the native languages of those countries.
